Graham On National Security Supplemental Text
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement on the release of the Senate’s national security supplemental text.
“Now that the Senate’s national security supplemental text has been released, I look forward to the amendment process to try to improve the bill. Something this significant cannot be rushed and jammed through. It should be subject to a robust debate and amendment process in the Senate.
“I am hopeful that Senator Schumer will allow an open amendment process to occur. If not, then the bill will die because of process.
“This issue is important to the American people. We must allow their voices to be heard when it comes to the Biden Border Disaster.
“Finally, I very much appreciate what Senator Lankford and others have done to try to reform asylum, immigration parole, and expedited removal. Like many others, I am open-minded on steps we can take to make the bill stronger. That can only come through the amendment process.”
