Graham Opposes Push to Expand Gambling Laws

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement on efforts by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to pass legislation that would force South Carolina to accept legalized gaming.

β€œIn the final days of this legislative session, it appears Majority Leader Harry Reid is searching for a way to expand internet gambling in the United States.  I oppose any federal legislation that would force South Carolina to accept legalized gaming. Ten years ago, South Carolina eliminated video poker.  Those days are well behind us, and we must be vigilant in opposing any last-minute efforts in Washington aimed at forcing gambling on South Carolina.”
