WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement on the passing of retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.

 

“America has lost one of her greatest legal giants with the passing of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.  She broke many barriers and rose through the ranks to ascend to the Supreme Court under President Reagan as the first female Justice.

 

“Justice O’Connor was a thought leader for the Court, shaping consequential American jurisprudence during her tenure.  

 

“Strong, honest, kind and smart are but a few words to describe her. A trailblazing life and a true role model, Justice O’Connor will be sorely missed. 

 

“May she Rest in Peace.”
